Tulum - Visual Journal
Tulum. Some people may say it's gotten too touristy or that it's changed for the worse, and while some of those things may be true, I had an amazing time and did not feel like it was "over touristy" or "selling out" - It's obviously a place that people want to go to, but it still has that special spark and energy that people keep coming for. I had an incredible time and would go back again in a heartbeat!
We stayed in Tulum town which is about a 10 minute drive from the beach and has a more authentic Mexican feel about. I honestly loved moped-ing to the beach and didn't mind that we weren't staying in a hotel on the beach strip (which is possibly why I did't find it over touristy). I actually came to prefer it and will most likely stay in Tulum town on my next trip.
One of my favorite things of being in Tulum was not the beach nor the food, but the people I met during my stay. Everyone was so open to having deeper conversations and talking about real things. Not just surface level conversations. I wish I could write about every conversation I had, but that would be a book! haha! All I can say is it was so refreshing!!
Below are my favorite images I took on the trip! Make sure you hover over them to show you where they were taken! I'm already planning my next trip and hope to be back in Tulum soon <3
